裕福な家で育ち、美しい母と有能な父を持った少年、間黒男。少年の未来への道は、明るく希望に満ちていたはずだった。しかし、一発の不発弾が、一瞬にして少年の未来を打ち砕いた。
爆発事故が原因で母は死亡し、家庭は崩壊、少年は身体がバラバラになるほどの重傷を負い、誰もが少年の死を確信した。

Raised in a wealthy family with a beautiful mother and a talented father, Kuroo Hazama was a boy with a bright life full of opportunities ahead of him. But one day, a single unexploded landmine instantly shatters the boy's future.
As a result of the explosion, his mother dies, his family is destroyed, and the boy himself is so badly maimed that his body is in pieces. Everybody believes him to be dead.
It is a surgeon named Dr. Honma who saves his life. Dr. Honma never gives up. After dozens of hours of extensive surgery to save the boy, he is finally brought back from the brink of death.
His body is full of grafted patches of skin, and the fear he experienced turned half of his hair white. The boy's appearance had completely changed.
Afterwards, he has to undergo a hellish rehabilitation process to recover his body. The boy endures this process.
Before he knows it, the boy discovers his dream—to become a master surgeon like Dr. Honma. Years go by, and a genius surgeon is born. He goes by the name of Black Jack.
He’s a doctor who does the impossible and charges outrageous surgery fees. He’s also a doctor who operates without a medical license.
